Question about cookies. I go in once in a while and clear all the
cookies in the system. My son lets everything in. My confusion comes
in I delete the cookies on the hard disk but are they also running in
memory somewhere. Do I need to shut the system down to get rid of
them?
Can I get a list of running cookies?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for this information Silj. Please can you answer another question
about this. I use IE7.
Having read this article, I changed my settings to always block 3rd party
cookies. However some sites require the use of first party cookies so I
changed the setting to always allow session cookies and prompt for first
party cookies.
I assumed that "always allow session cookies" would override "prompt for
first party cookies" but I am now getting prompted all the time. Is this
correct? Or do I need to block first party cookies as well and then session
cookies will be allowed.

Glad to read the information I provided was of use to you.
I also run IE7 - I personally override cookies settings and block ALL cookies.
First and third-party, and do not allow session cookies unless a specific site that
you know and trust *requires* cookies.
If a given site that you frequently visit requires cookies, click on the cookie prompt
at the bottom of the IE Window and click on "always allow cookies for this site".

Most welcome, I find, running IE7 under presumably Win XP on your end, is the best
way to "handle cookies" -

Excellent to hear - there's no better thing on your PC than a Secure Browser!
