Jolly Joker 12-03-2008, 01:28 AM Hi, which is the best program to get rid of continuoous ads?
Almost everytime I open internet explorer, a windows opens with annoying
ads of every kind. I have run AVG and spybot, without success.
Thanks!

I suggest a security improvement by running Firefox from Mozilla.com
with the NoScript Add ON installed and set to disallow about everything.

I use privoxy from http://www.privoxy.org/
with a bunch of rules from neilvandyke.action file downloaded from
http://www.neilvandyke.org/privoxy-rules
Then add my own action file with tweaks as I find need to block something.

I use Firefox with 'Adblock Plus' add-on. Try it. (I see you are using
FF too)

Besides possibly switching to FireFox, you may well be infected with some
sort of malware.
Try one or both of the following free programs. No, they do not ask you to
pay before they fix the problems.
They fix the problems just as well as their paid versions do. The free
versions are on-demand only and don't prevent malware from getting installed
on your computer.
Download, install, update and then run (seperately) the following
program(s):
MalwareByte's Anti-Malware
SuperAntiSpyware
After installing and updating them, delete your Temp Internet Files and
cookies(if you wish) and also your temp files and empty your Recycled Bin.
Then run MBAM (MalwareByte's Anti-Malware). If it finds anything, choose
what you want to delete and let it do its stuff. Run it again, and when it
doesn't find any additional items, shut it off and run
SAS(SuperAntiSpyware).
Another great free program that contains a host file is SpyWareBlaster. It
works in the background and uses hardly any resources.
It can prevent a lot of malware-spyware stuff from ever getting on your
computer.
