Hi!

I've got exactly the same kind of problem with my computer as Hogan. I tried to follow the help he got, but got stuck as I couldn't install the SDFix. I managed to download SDFix.exe from the third link (in 10th post) but when I try to execute it nothing happens. The same problem occurred with MBA-M.

For what it's worth alone, I I'll post my HjT-log. At first I tried to remove some suspicious items with HjT with the help of some online analyzers, but after reading this thread I've restored them.

These two programs;
a-squared Anti-Malware Service and Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service should be TURNED OFF in services.
Do it this way, go to Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services.
This will open Services. The list is in alphabetical order. Double click a-squared listing. The the properties box for this opens first go down to the bottom and STOP the service. Once it is stopped then in the middle you will see Start up type, it is set to automatic. Click the little arrow next to Automatic and when the drop down menu opens choose Disabled.
Do the same thing for Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service.
Are you ABSOLUTELY certain you have restored all items you fixed with HJT?
I frankly see nothing wrong on your log.

See if renaming these programs will help.
Right click on SDFix and choose Rename. Then type in the following;
analyze and hit the Enter Key. Then try to double click to extract the file.
Do the same with MBA-M
If both renaming work then follow the instructions for running the tools
SDFix:
It must be run in SAFE MODE.

Now, double-click on the SDFix icon that should now be residing on your desktop. If a Open File - Security Warning box opens, click on the Run button.
A window will now open showing SDFix being extracted into the C:\SDFix folder. Once the installation program has finished extracting SDFix, it will open a Notepad with further instructions.

Next, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html) by doing the following:

Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Click on the Start button, click on the Run menu option, and type the following into the Open: field:

C:\SDFix\RunThis.bat

Then press the OK button. You will then be shown a Disclaimer. Press the "Y" key to continue.
SDFix will now start scanning your computer for known infections.
This process can take a while, so you may want to do something else and periodically check back on the status of SDFix. As the scanning process continues you will continue to see new messages on the screen.
When the scanning process has finished you will see a new screen stating that you need to restart your computer in order to continue.
At this point you should press any key on your computer's keyboard in order to restart the computer.
After your computer reboots SDFix will automatically start and perform a last check.
You will now be presented with a screen stating that SDFix has finished.
At this point you should press any key on your computer's keyboard in order to continue to your desktop.
When you are back at your Windows desktop, the SDFix log will automatically be opened in notepad.
Save that log and post back here with it.

DoubleClick mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install MBA-M.
Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt.

Then REBOOT.
Run a new HJT scan and post back with all three logs.

About restored HjT-files. I can't remember doing it, but it is possible that I have fixed some items and those backups were lost when i installed the newer version of HjT and deleted the old one. This is very unlikely though. However, at the moment I've restored ALL the items from HjT's "View the list of backups" option. Come to think of it, I remember seeing some "file missing" items on my previous HjT logs, belonging to avast IIRC. But those files were just probably lost because I've reinstalled the avast.

Renaming the programs helped. Thanks.

BUT I couldn't remember the admin password when I tried to log in with it in safe mode. So, I ran SDFix with normal user and the log file revealed it couldn't perform deep scan. How important is it, the deep scan - do i need to regain the admin pw somehow? There seemed to be lots of advices on the net how to do it, hopefully safely.

Here's the logs:

I think everything looks good. What SDFix didn't remove in normal mode then MBA-M did remove, as long as you rebooted the computer. If you didn't of course do so now.
Your HJT log also looks good too. You need to update your Java program as yours is way out of date, this can lead to security issues so it should be kept up to date.
First thing to do is go HERE (http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) to download the latest version. Choose the Offline Install file. Download and save it to the desktop.
Once it is downloaded then go to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove. Uninstall ALL old versions of Java that you see there. Once the uninstall is complete then go to that java install file on the desktop and double click to install. A word of caution here, pay close attention to the different pages that are displayed there in that java install program. Now on one of them is a box, with a check mark in it, which will allow the install of the Yahoo tool bar, TAKE THAT CHECK MARK OUT OF THERE. That way you won't end up with that on your browser. It is more trouble than it is worth.
Then allow the installation to proceed. Once it is complete then go back to that download page link I just gave you and on the Right side of the page you should see Verify Now. Click that to go to the test page to verify the installation was completed correctly.
