Can anyone recommend a good program?

I have been using a bundled copy of PM 8 the disk of which appears to be giving up.

I am reluctant to buy PM8 as it has not been updated in so long and does not support VISTA so when I do have to upgrade it wouldn't work for me.

Currently running XP and the included paritioning software does't appear to let me get where I need to be anywhere near as easily as PM8 did.

I need to be able to partition and format large drives. I currently have two 500GB in my main machine.

I need to be able to do this prior to installation of windows.

Any recommendations?

Most drive manufactures have software available on a boot CD, usually included with your drive, in order to partition/format the drive or repartition/manage your volumes etc... What make/model drives are these big guys.

While we are at it, I can check into some of the possible reasons that you might be getting the disk boot error in your previous question.

Bought this program and it looks very good. Runs in windows and creates a bootable disk.

Using bootable disk, just created partitions just as I would with PM8!!

Thanks

You will be pleased to hear that with regard to the other boot problems (different thread) having ascertained that the issue was with the primary optical drive, despite the fact that it was reading and booting from some disks which somwhat confused the issue, set older CRROM as primary optical drive, partitioned and formatted with PM as I always have before and Windows XP is now happily installed.

I have never been so pleased to see a blue screen

For info I have also changed the CMOS battery but I think this was not the cause.

Then tonight my PM boot disc started to give up the ghost. Hence this post!!
