View Full Version : Couldn't locate backup file!

I'm still looking but I have literally more than a dozen drives and a LOT of cd's/DVD's to sort through with tons of data on them.

I'm doing everything I can to locate a backup file but so far its not looking very good! I thought I'd at least post this up for at least a temporary solution while I keep on looking.

I've been going through my archives and still haven't found anything!

blank
08-09-2006, 09:59 PM
It looks like when the cleanup removed the DB when it wasn't supposed to it also took out the DB backup that I HAD so I guess we're starting over now which REALLY sucks considering years worth of archives and a considerable amount of traffic to them is basically GONE now because Cpanel removed the DB ianag when I removed the ianag username. The DB was NOT associated with that account for anything other than NAME purposes.

Well . . . This sure bites it.

What now, chief?

blank
08-09-2006, 11:49 PM
No idea.... I think I'm going to go bury my head in the sand for a while! I just can't believe cpanel would kill all this stuff :( I sold ianag.com quite a while back so I was clearing that HOSTING account and didn't have the DB listed under the ianag.com account but for some reason it took out my ianag named DB. I had my backups inside of the directory in /var/lib/mysql/ianag so it was /var/lib/mysql/backup so NOW I know thats a bad idea! but its already too late

good weather is usually bad for you anyway, sunburns, dehydration etc.. I like it when it's foggy and drizzly, although you still get a nasty sunburn in the fog. I was out enjoying some of the weather the other day with my detector, found like 2 bucks in change a raiders pendant, and a chunk of gold :) can't go wrong there but my arms got a bit too much sun.

Yeah...I if I was to take a ride in the car I'd go broke...now if gas was down around 1.75 again I would in a heartbeat...but the $3.04/gallon is NOT allowing me to take joyrides... Once you've got one of THESE (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=water+fuel) built and working the initial investment is paid for by not spending money on gas. From the discription, it looks like it would be similar to driving a diesel with glow plugs.

OH, I've heard about that...but no...that'd take too much...

cauzomb
08-11-2006, 09:52 PM
It's about the same as doing a series of performance enhancements for a turbo car. Coat the p's and c's, change the valves, intake and exhaust, some wiring, testing and tuning... probly spend like 1200-1500 tops on parts and coatings n stuff, maybe another 400-500 on labor if you can't dyi, you might spend over 2300 on gasoline in a year. The big deal is keeping the internals from rusting, all the wear parts and exhaust needs to be converted to non-ferrous metals or ceramic coated, I don't know about the rings but nichrome cylinders won't rust, ceramic piston coating's and maybe chrome rings? I'll try it on my old bug once I get re-established n bills paid. Maybe it'll still have 150+hp with that setup non-turbo'd, throw in a 70 shot of nos for the drag strip.

Gizmokid2005
08-11-2006, 09:53 PM
I'd like to see the performance difference in that...but it'd be cool...

cauzomb
08-12-2006, 02:12 AM
I'd like to see the performance difference in that...but it'd be cool...the first site I checked out claim's that it is more powerfull than a gasoline engine for a combination of reasons, according to the writeup it burns hotter, has a significant amount of effeciency gain, but getting the mixture just right is important. According to the writeup it sounds like the same kinda stuff people go through installing a 15-16 psi turbo on NA engines ;) without mods or an intercooler you'd be stuck at 8psi.

They recomend using a water/methenol injection setup to cool off the egt rather than retarding the timing, that's why you gotta have ceramic coatings and stainless valves and stainless exhaust so it doesn't rust everything. So you'd have to be going after it with the same fervur as boosting an NA for more power, except your going for cleaner cheaper fuel. With the water injection, you are effectively replacing space inside the chamber, so it's like having a variable compression ratio that also acts as a bigger heatsink :P

you have to watchout for gross politics though, I tried moving towards some other fuel and dmv started shoving laws in my face that serve no other purpose but to perpetuate gasoline industry... can't have natural gas in your personal car, can't have cng or liquified propane gas unless your car is over like 12 tons or some crap, can't register your personal alternative fuel automobile without paying an extra 300 something in registration every year for the gasonline tax that you aren't paying anymore.

There are a few vehicles around that are converted to run on propane.

Also, there are propane kits for Diesel engines. You can run as much as 50% propane.

Gizmokid2005
08-12-2006, 01:37 PM
Right, but those are diesel...

Mathster
08-12-2006, 01:44 PM
no, there are a couple gassers that were converted to propane.

but road tax laws vary by state and some states may require a tax fee to make up for lost road taxes for running propane.

Gizmokid2005
08-12-2006, 01:50 PM
That's a good point. I'm sorry, but we want to reduce our dependence on oil, so we charge people more for using less oil???

Mathster
08-12-2006, 01:59 PM
There is a new Biodiesel plant going in a few miles north of us.
Combine that with a methonol plant that is cranking up operations again.

Depending on where you live, I have noticed very different attitudes towards oil consumption. I live in a rather rural area, its a 5 mile drive from my house to the closest store. 30 miles to work. Yea, I know, I live here by choice, but there are quite a few people that live in middle america that have to drive 20K or 30K per year as daily life. I have friends that grew up in major cites that didn't learn to drive until they were 30.

Personally, I think that if every soccer mom would stop driving an excursion to take ONE child three blocks to a friends house, we could cut consumption nicely.

Gizmokid2005
08-12-2006, 02:16 PM
I agree with that. I have to commute about 20mi. one way to work, but I also live like right next to EVERY store needed so...
